CNESST Scholarship 2026 at University of Laval

This Scholarship is intended for the writing or recruitment of a high-level student in the Master of Laws program, essay or thesis component, or in the Doctor of Laws program whose research area is related to one of the sectors under the mission of the CNESST, namely labour standards, occupational health and safety or pay equity.

Requirements

• Be newly admitted in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 to a Master of Laws (thesis or dissertation) or Doctor of Laws program at the Faculty, whose research topic is related to labour standards, occupational health and safety, or pay equity; OR
• Being in the writing phase of the essay, dissertation or thesis as long as the research topic is related to labour standards, occupational health and safety or pay equity;
• If, during the writing phase, it is necessary to have presented and passed one's thesis presentation workshop or one's prospective examination (for the doctorate);
• Be enrolled full-time at Laval University at the time of receiving the scholarship;
• Having an excellent academic record
• To receive support from one's research supervisor.

Selection Process

Application evaluation criteria:

• Excellence of academic record;
• The quality and relevance of the research project in relation to the scholarship;
• The research director's evaluation.

Application Documents

The application file must contain:

• A description of the research project of no more than two pages;
• A description of the funding obtained for the study program;
• An evaluation by the research director*;
• A letter of recommendation from a referee (professor, employer);
• Final transcripts of university studies (bachelor's or master's degree, depending on the program concerned);
• A curriculum vitae.
