Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents

• Be incoming full-time students in a research-based master's or PhD program at UBC Okanagan

• Have an admission GPA equivalent to first-class standing

• Be starting their program in the academic year for which they are applying

Selection Process

Selection Criteria:

• Academic excellence (admission GPA)

• Faculty recommendation based on application review

• Applications from Indigenous students are given special consideration; a specific BCGS award is reserved annually for qualified Indigenous applicants

Application Deadline

How To Apply

1. Apply for admission to an eligible graduate program at UBC Okanagan.

2. Submit all admission materials by the January 31 priority deadline.

3. No separate application for BCGS is needed — students will be automatically considered.

4. Faculties nominate students based on submitted admission materials.
