Carleton University David Muir Entrance Scholarship in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering 2025-2026

Awarded annually to an outstanding student entering an undergraduate degree program with the Department of Mechani-cal and Aerospace Engineering. Eligible recipients must have an admission average of 90 percent or better and demon-strate a range of community or secondary school activities. Endowed in 2012 by GasTOPS Ltd.

Benefits

This entrance scholarship is valued at $7,500 in first year and renewable at $4,000 or $3,000 for second, third and fourth year with an A- standing (minimum annual GPA of 10.0). The Muir Entrance Scholarship in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering will replace any previously offered renewable entrance scholarship.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada (landed immigrant or protected person)
  • Applicant must have applied and been offered admission to an undergraduate degree program at Carleton University in one of the following programs: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering, or Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering
  • Applicant must be entering the first year of the program and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time
  • Applicant must have an admissions average of 90 percent or higher
  • Applicant must demonstrate leadership, community service and participation in extra-curricular activities throughout secondary school
