The purpose of this scholarship is to financially support students wishing to pursue or undertake the doctoral program in philosophy, the thesis of which is intended to be defended at the Faculty of Philosophy of Laval University.

Benefits

• 1 scholarship of $20,000 (Poured in 3 equal installments)
• 1 scholarship of $10,000 (Poured in 3 equal installments)

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Have submitted a complete admission file for the doctorate in philosophy for the upcoming fall session.

Or

• Be already registered for a doctorate in philosophy at Laval University and have not completed more than four full-time registration sessions.

And

• Be registered full-time (or be deemed (e) full-time according to Student Financial Aid) at Laval University in an eligible program during the year the scholarship is awarded (fall and winter sessions).
• ** Part-time student(s) (6 to 11 credits): If you are recognized as a parent student(s) under the terms of the Policy relating to student parents of Laval University, you may be eligible for this competition. 

This scholarship is reserved for

• Canadian citizens
• Permanent residents
• International students

Selection Process

The excellence of the file is the determining criterion for obtaining these scholarships.

The Selection Committee examines the files based on the following criteria:

• Previous academic results, their excellence and their progress.
• All previous achievements attested by the CV.
• The candidate's progress based on the direction's assessment of current or previous research.
• The recommendation of another respondent with good knowledge of the candidate.
• The quality of the research project and the work plan.
