Benefits

$70,000 per year for two years

Requirements

  • Must hold a PhD or health professional (HP or AHP) degree by the start date
  • Cannot hold a tenure-track or equivalent faculty position
  • Submit application via ResearchNet
  • Provide a Canadian Common CV (Academic template)
  • Complete the SGBA+ certificate module
  • Submit degree fulfillment form and proof of citizenship

Selection Process

Selection Criteria:

  • Significance and clarity of research proposal
  • Evidence of past research excellence and leadership
  • Future research potential and career goals
  • Alignment with DORA principles and CIHR’s health research priorities
  • Supportive training environment and reference assessments
  • Relevance to Indigenous health (if applicable)

Each document must be a single, unprotected PDF (maximum 30 MB).

  • CPRA - Status and Confirmation of Scientific Area form

  • SGBA+ Certificate (from CIHR training module)

  • Fulfillment of Degree Requirements form

  • Proof of Citizenship

  • Most Significant Contributions (maximum 2 pages)

  • Special Circumstances (optional, 1 page)

  • Training Expectations (maximum 2 pages)

  • Research Project Summary (maximum 1 page)

  • Research Environment Description (maximum 1 page)

  • Signature Pages (3 pages including routing slip)
