The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) aims to provide Black students with research work experience that complements their studies, in order to spark their interest in health sciences research and encourage them to undertake graduate studies and pursue research careers in these fields
4 scholarships starting at $6,000 ($6,000 for a period of 14 to 16 weeks. Professor-researchers must pay a supplement of at least 25% of the value of the scholarship which will be added to the $6,000.)

The subject of the research internship determines the student's eligibility, not their program of study. The proposed research must be in a field of health sciences .
Students should not receive any academic credit for work completed during the scholarship period.
Exception for co-op placements: Credits awarded through co-op programs are not considered university credits.
The student must be supervised by a researcher affiliated with one of the eligible faculties.
