Dean's Award for Indigenous Graduate Students at UVIC 2025-2026

The Faculty of Graduate Studies’ Dean’s Award for Indigenous Graduate Students is an award to recognize and support academic excellence. The Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement and the Faculty of Graduate Studies have collaborated in the development of these awards for Indigenous students valued at $6,000 or $15,000.

Requirements

• Canadian Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) student
• Registered in full-time graduate studies at the Master’s or Doctoral level during the entire 12 months of the award term (September to August)
• A first-class average (7.0/A- or higher); for new students, GPA is based on the last 30 units of completed study; for current students GPA is based on completed courses in your current graduate degree program.

How To Apply

1. Go to www.uvic.ca/applyforawards
2. Sign into your Online Tools account                         
3. Select “Apply for Awards” or “View and modify current award applications” if you have previously viewed/started this application
4. Select the Aid Year and Period
5. Select the Application “FGS Scholarship Application”
6. Complete sections of application, ensuring you click ‘apply for award’ on each individual award page for the award you are applying for
7. Submit any required documentation to [email protected]
