The recipient of the $1,000 CAD annual scholarship will be selected based on the strength of their essay, clarity of career pathway, and demonstrated commitment to entering or advancing in the skilled trades.
Funds may be used for:
- Tuition fees
- Apprenticeship or program fees
- Required tools
- Safety tickets
- Trade certifications
- Other education related expenses that accelerate your path toward employer readiness and active employment in a high demand trade.
Requirements
The recipient of the $1,000 CAD annual scholarship will be selected based on the strength of their essay, clarity of career pathway, and demonstrated commitment to entering or advancing in the skilled trades.
- Written Essay
- Submit a 500 word or less essay outlining your career path and how you plan to succeed in a competitive labor market.
- Trade Pathway
- Be pursuing or planning to pursue a skilled trades, energy, or industrial career, including but not limited to welding, electrical, heavy equipment, millwright, HVAC, CDL, safety, and any other recognized skilled trade or apprenticeship pathway.
- Program Enrollment
- Be enrolled in or preparing to enter a recognized apprenticeship, technical program, or industry certification pathway.
- Age Requirement
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Residency
- Open to citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada.
- EJSU Quiz (Optional)
This annual scholarship is open to individuals at any stage of entering or advancing within the skilled trades.
This includes students, working tradespeople upgrading skills, career transitioners, and veterans preparing for civilian workforce entry.
- Students enrolled in or planning to enter a trade school, apprenticeship, technical program, or industry recognized certification.
- Workers already in the trades who are upgrading skills, adding certifications, or moving into higher demand roles.
- Individuals currently working in another field who are transitioning and upgrading education to move into a skilled trade.
- Active service members or veterans preparing to enter or re-enter the civilian skilled trades workforce.
