Requirements
- Open to high school and post-secondary students who have a passion for aviation
- A demonstrated passion for aviation. This could be shown through involvement in aviation clubs, model flying, simulator experience, relevant hobbies, or simply a compelling personal story of why you want to fly.
- May have overcome obstacles or challenges to pursue flying (financial hardship, personal challenges, etc.), showing resilience and motivation.
- Meets all general ECFI enrollment requirements or is on track to meet them (must be eligible for flight training with regards to age, language, and medical fitness as per Transport Canada rules).
Selection Process
Shortlisted applicants will have an interview with the Scholarship Committee
Application Documents
- A personal essay on “My Future in Aviation: My Dream and Plan to Become a Pilot.” (approximately 500 words). Share your aviation goals, what excites you about flying, and how you plan to achieve your pilot career ambitions. We want to feel your enthusiasm and understand your roadmap – whether it’s to be an airline captain, flight instructor, or recreational pilot with extraordinary commitment.
- Letter of recommendation from someone who can speak to your passion and character. This could be a teacher, coach, mentor, or someone in aviation you’ve connected with. If you have volunteer or work experience (aviation-related or not), a reference from a supervisor would also be suitable to highlight your dedication and work ethic.
- Any supporting documents that show your interest in aviation (optional but encouraged). For example, proof of attending aviation camps, memberships in aviation organizations, or relevant projects you’ve done.
- Completed scholarship application form and personal information as required.
