Graduate Student Recruitment: MSc/PhD Opportunity in Equity, AI & Emerging Technologies at University of Ottawa 2025

Dr. Gita Ghiasi, Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa, is currently recruiting MSc and/or PhD students for a funded interdisciplinary research project. The project explores how emerging technologies like AI intersect with global equity and international development. Students will be admitted through either the Digital Transformation and Innovation (DTI) program or the Systems Science and Engineering program—depending on academic background and interests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field

  • Big data analytics

  • Data visualization or digital storytelling

  • Python, SQL, and relational databases

• Knowledge of bibliometrics is an asset

• Demonstrated interest in tech for social good or international development
