Grand River Agricultural Society 2024 Scholarship

The Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS) established this scholarship program to provide financial assistance to students within our community who are entering or enrolled in a college diploma or university degree, in agriculture and/or environment-related programs.

Benefits

• Scholarship will be give to 12 successful selected applicants that meets the full scholarship criteria
• The 2 awards is worth the sum $3,000

Requirements

• The student must be a permanent resident of Wellington County, Perth County, or the Region of Waterloo.
• The applicant must be pursuing studies in an agricultural and/or environmental-related program and provide evidence of acceptance into such program.
• The applicant must have a proven record of involvement in school and community activities. Ex: 4-H, school sports, clubs, and volunteer work within agricultural/environmental initiatives.
• A 500-word essay written by the student on their future career plans for the agricultural or environmental sector. 

Interview Dates and Process

• Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be considered (SIN must be provided for tax purposes).
• A digital copy of final transcript must be provided.
• By completing and submitting the application, all scholarship recipients agree to give GRAS permission to post/publish the recipient’s photo, video, and name online via GRAS social media channels and the GRAS website.
• Applications that are not selected, are not carried forward into the next year. Applicants must reapply to be considered for future scholarships.
• GRAS is not responsible for incomplete applications.

Applications must be received by July 1st. Decisions will be completed by August 15th.
