Benefits

The Department of Agriculture has a scholarship of $2,500 available to support you in your post-secondary studies. In addition to receiving the scholarship, you will also have a paid summer internship with the Department of Agriculture after completing your academic year. You will receive a salary for your work (~$10,000) and will gain valuable work experience and industry connections that can help shape your future career in agriculture.

Requirements

You are an African Nova Scotian or Black student enrolled in a full-time program at a Canadian university in 2025-2026.

Selection Process

  • The scholarship will be awarded pending proof of enrollment. The summer internship is expected to run from late April to late August 2026. The internship work location is in the Truro/Bible Hill area.
  • Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview by 31 October 2025.
