HEC Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements - NSERC Scholarship 2025

This CGS-MSFSS supports high-calibre Canadian graduate students in building global linkages and international networks through the pursuit of exceptional research experiences abroad Canada Graduate Scholarships, Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements (CGS-MSFSS) are available to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who hold a Joseph-Armand Bombardier, Alexander Graham Bell or Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS) at the masters, or doctoral level, or a Vanier CGS at the doctoral level. The defined research study period abroad to be covered by the supplement must be for a minimum of two months to a maximum of six months

The amount of the award is up to $ 6,000.

Requirements

• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

• Enrolled in a Graduate (M.Sc.) or PhD program.

• Field of study must be Finance, Logistics and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, or Information Technologies.

• Must already be an SSHRC, NSERC, or Vanier CGS Fellow.

Selection Process

The following criterion will be used to evaluate application files:

• Importance of the stay for the realization of the research project.: 40%
• Justification of the choice of the host institution or the research supervisor at this institution: 40%
• Project planning and implementation: 20%
