Loretta Saunders Community Scholarship Fund 2025

The Loretta Saunders Community Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 to honour the life and legacy of Loretta Saunders—an Inuk woman, passionate advocate, and Criminology student at Saint Mary’s University. This scholarship supports Indigenous women from Mi’kma’ki, Nunatsiavut, or Atlantic Canada who are pursuing post-secondary education, in recognition of their academic achievement, community service, and financial need.

  • Must be an Indigenous woman from Mi’kma’ki, Nunatsiavut, or Atlantic Canada

  • Applicants are assessed based on academic achievement, community involvement/volunteer work, and financial need
