Requirements

To be eligible for the Walter Kiriak Entrance Scholarship at NAIT, applicants must:

• Be entering the Surveying & Geospatial Engineering Technology program.

• Demonstrate excellent academic achievement in the courses required for admission to the program.

• Submit a completed scholarship application by the deadline.

• Preference will be given to students from rural Alberta communities (must specify the community in the application).

Interview Dates and Process

Applicants for the Walter Kiriak Entrance Scholarship will be assessed based on the following criteria:

1. Academic Excellence

   • Demonstrated outstanding performance in the prerequisite courses required for admission to the Surveying & Geospatial Engineering Technology program.

2. Rural Alberta Connection

   • Preference is given to students from rural Alberta communities, as indicated in the application. Clear identification of hometown/residency will be considered.

3. Completion of Application

   • Submission of a fully completed scholarship application, including answering the supplemental question regarding rural Alberta residency, by the July 28, 2025 deadline.

4. Suitability for Program

   • Evidence of genuine interest in and preparedness for the Surveying & Geospatial Engineering Technology program.
