Memorial University is offering a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship in the Departments of Earth Science and Process Engineering. This in-person research position, starting between January and April 2026, focuses on assessing and quantifying geochemical risks associated with subsurface CO2 injection as part of geological carbon storage initiatives.

Advanced research opportunity in experimental and modeling geochemistry
Supervision and collaboration with leading scientists Dr. Karem Azmy and Dr. Lesley James

Applicants must:
Hold a PhD in a relevant field
Meet Memorial University’s postdoc admission requirements

Selection is based on the following:
Required:
PhD in relevant science/engineering discipline
Strong experimental or modeling background
Excellent English writing/speaking (with certification if applicable)
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred:
Industry experience
Experience with: XRD, SEM, MLA, AFM, porosimetry, PVT systems
Familiarity with software/tools: PHREEQC, TOUGHREACT, Python, MATLAB, COMSOL, etc.
Strong research communication, publication, and mentorship skills
