Are you a Grade 12 student who’s passionate about promoting health and wellness in your school or community? The Premier’s Healthy Living Scholarship for Youth is your chance to be recognized for making a real difference!
This $1,000 scholarship celebrates young Manitobans who are positive role models and have made outstanding contributions in promoting healthy lifestyles. Whether you’ve led mental health initiatives, encouraged physical activity, raised awareness about substance abuse, or advocated for healthy eating—your efforts matter.
Each year, up to 10 deserving students across Manitoba are awarded this scholarship as they begin their post-secondary journey at the University of Manitoba.
If you’ve inspired others to live healthier lives, this is your opportunity to be recognized for your leadership and commitment to well-being.
$1,000 scholarship to support your first year of studies at the University of Manitoba
Recognition as a role model, celebrating your contributions to healthy living in your school or community
Strengthened university application and CV, demonstrating leadership in areas like mental health, active living, or substance prevention
Inspiration for future work, positioning you to continue promoting wellness beyond high school
You must be in Grade 12 and planning to graduate in the current school year.
You need to be admitted to, and register full-time in your first year at any faculty or school at the University of Manitoba.
You must have a minimum entering average of 75% in the courses used for your university admission.
You have to demonstrate outstanding healthy living contributions during high school in at least one of these areas:
Active living
Healthy eating
Healthy sexuality
Mental health promotion
Safety and injury prevention
Substance abuse and addictions
Tobacco reduction

Write your Healthy Living Contribution statement, answering these questions:
What kind of work did you do and how did it relate to healthy living?
Where did this take place and who was involved?
How did you serve as a role model for others?
What impact did your efforts have on your school/community?
Write a 250-word personal statement about why you should receive the scholarship, what you learned, and how you’ll continue promoting healthy living.
Include a reference letter
