The President's Scholarship is awarded to eligible students entering the University to study in the 2026 academic session. It was established in 1987 in honour of their donors or distinguished members of the University and are considered one of the most prestigious entrance awards at the University of Guelph.

Benefits
- 7 awards of $42,500 ($8,250 annually for 4 years of study plus one $9,500 stipend for summer research assistantship)
- Recipients will be guaranteed residence, and guaranteed their first-choice preference for their first year of study provided the residence application and deposit are completed by the deadline date published by Student Housing Services.
Requirements
- Students entering a degree program with a minimum 90% admission average who have made significant leadership and innovative contributions to their schools and/or communities and demonstrate the potential to become a leader in society.
Selection Process
- election will be made on superior leadership ability and potential as demonstrated through positions held, extra-curricular activities, involvement in high school and communities and reference support.
- Students apply by January 23 by completing the online application.
- References must be submitted by January 30.
- The scholarship will be renewed each year provided recipients remain registered in full-time studies and achieve a minimum 80.0% average in their previous academic year of full-time study and continue to demonstrate the leadership qualities on which the award was given.
- Recipients must provide an annual report to the President's and Chancellors' Scholarship Selection and Review Committee (PCSSRC) detailing leadership and engagement activities throughout the year.
