Providence University College Indigenous Leadership Scholarship 2025

The Indigenous Leadership Scholarship at Providence University College supports Indigenous students who are committed to strengthening leadership within Indigenous communities in Manitoba and beyond. Valued at $1,000, this scholarship is awarded to one eligible student each year and is intended to assist those pursuing post-secondary education with a vision to empower future Indigenous leaders. The award is disbursed in the second semester upon confirmation of eligibility.

Requirements

  • Self-identify as Indigenous (provide Status Card or letter from Chief and Council)

  • Must meet enrollment criteria at Providence

  • Enrolled in a University College or Seminary degree program

  • Maintain a minimum AGPA of 2.0

  • Enrolled in at least 3 credits per semester

  • Submit official transcript and required documents

  • Submit a brief personal paragraph about yourself, your background, program of study, and how the scholarship will help

Are you qualified and interested in this opportunity? Kindly go to Providence University College on my.prov.ca to apply
  • Apply for admission to Providence University College or Seminary.

    • Your scholarship application will only be considered after you've submitted a formal university application.

  • Complete the Indigenous Leadership Scholarship application form

    • Fill in personal details, expected entrance term, and your program (University College or Seminary).

    • Indicate your Indigenous community and attach either:

      • A photocopy of your Status Card, or

      • A letter from your Chief and Council confirming your community membership.

  • Write and include two essays:

    • A minimum 400-word essay explaining your future goals and how you plan to help develop Indigenous leadership.

    • A brief personal paragraph introducing yourself, your background, what you’ll study at Providence, and how the scholarship will support you.

  • Consent to scholarship terms

    • Agree to allow Providence to use your name and picture for publicity and donor communications.

  • Submit your official transcript

    • Have your high school send an official transcript directly to Providence.

  • Send your completed application
