Queen’s University Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship 2027/2028

The Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship at Queen's University is awarded to a second or third-year student of Japanese nationality (citizen) who is currently enrolled in a Japanese university, and who will study at Queen's University on a Letter of Permission from their home university.

Benefits

• Approximately CAD $60,000 for one academic year.

Requirements

• Nationality: Must be a Japanese citizen.

• Current university: Must be enrolled at a four-year university in Japan.

• Year of study: Must be in the second or third year as of April 2027.

• University approval: Must obtain permission from their home university to study at Queen’s University for one academic year.

• Study period: Must be able to study at Queen’s University from autumn 2027 through spring 2028.

• English proficiency: Must provide an accepted English-language test score:

  • IELTS: 6.5 or above.

  • TOEFL iBT: 88 or above, with at least 20 in each section.

  • Law applicants: TOEFL iBT 100 or above.

Application Documents

• The completed Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship application form and essay must be submitted by the deadline of December 1.
• This may be mailed or emailed by the applicant • An official transcript from your home university by December 1.
•  A satisfactory score on a test of facility in English by December 1. One of TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB is accepted for all programs except Law.
