The Jeannine Deveau Scholarship is valued at $15,000 ($3,000 per year, renewable for 5 years)

Requirements

Note:  For the purposes of the StFX scholarship, eligible candidates are people who are identified as Mi'kmaq by the Mi'kmaq communities of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI or Wolastoqiyik communities of New Brunswick or people who identify themselves as Indigenous Black Nova Scotian.  Indigenous Black Nova Scotian's are individuals who are Black and (a) were born and raised in Nova Scotia or (b) who have a substantial connection with a historically Black community in Nova Scotia. 

Interview Dates and Process

To be considered for a Jeannine Deveau scholarship applicants must:

  • Apply to StFX admissions or currently be enrolled in courses at St. Francis Xavier University.
  • Submit transcript(s) for admissions, this could be final first semester Grade 12 marks or final Grade 12 marks.
