We’re offering a meaningful scholarship to full-time students pursuing further learning at Canadian universities or colleges, and those enrolled in trade school educational programs starting in September 2024. We’re seeking individuals who embrace a lifestyle that transcends the limitations imposed by living with a disability.
The Young Scholars Program is designed to empower students living with rheumatic diseases by offering workshops, financial support, and access to essential tools and resources. These initiatives aim to help students excel academically and personally, despite the ongoing challenges they face due to their conditions.
Take a Pain Check was launched as a podcast in March 2021 by Natasha Trehan. Natasha was diagnosed at the age of 13 with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, and is currently studying Transitional and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa. As a teenager, she felt alone and was unable to find resources to connect with other people with similar lived experiences. The Learn Without Limits Take a Pain Check Scholarship, valued at $2,500 CAD, is open to students currently pursuing higher education in any undergraduate non-STEM program. This scholarship aims to promote equity and improve access to opportunities by easing financial burdens for students living with rheumatic diseases. We believe it will foster inclusive environments, empowering individuals to overcome the unique challenges they face. One recipient will be selected based on demonstrated academic excellence and community involvement.
