The Joyce Family Foundation Bursaries at Yukon University

The Joyce Family Foundation, which is committed to providing access to education for youth who face significant financial barriers and who have demonstrated the ability to overcome obstacles and adversity. Two $3,000 bursaries have been made possible by a generous donation from the Joyce Family Foundation.

Benefits

These awards are worth $6,000 and may be renewed up to two times with good academic standing.

Requirements

• Submit a letter, audio or visual file answering the following questions
  • Which program do you wish to transition into?
  • What challenges have you overcome to be here?
  • How will your program of choice support your future hopes and aspirations?
• Submit a community reference letter, audio, or visual file that speaks to your resilience in the face of adversity and your potential for success in your post-secondary studies.
  • Suitable sources include education mentor/advisor, coach, First Nation Post-Secondary Education Coordinator, First Nation Council member, Elder, pastor current employer, a member of a community organization.

• Completed Student Financial Award Application Form

In addition, applicants must:

• Be first-time student at Yukon University entering the University Access Pathways program.
• Be no more than 23 years of age on the first day of classes.
• Be Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person from Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, or north of 55 parallel in Alberta or British Columbia.
