For a full-time student in clear academic standing enrolled in the undergraduate internship course and pursuing an out-of-town placement. Established out of the generosity of Scott Lauder, who taught English literature to Toronto Metropolitan journalism students for more than three decades. The award helps cover expenses associated with an out-of-town internship course placement and is given to a student who might not otherwise be able to finance such a placement.

Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the qualifications in at least one of the following groups
OR
- Applicant must have clear academic standing.
- Applicant must be an undergraduate student.
- Applicant must be enrolled in the Journalism program.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need as determined by Toronto Metropolitan University.
- Applicant must be enrolled full-time.
- Applicant must be registered with Academic Accommodation Support.
- Applicant must have clear academic standing.
- Applicant must be an undergraduate student.
- Applicant must be enrolled in the Journalism program.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need as determined by Toronto Metropolitan University.
- Applicant must be enrolled full-time in a reduced course load.
- Applicant must have an approved accommodation for a reduced course load.
