Toronto Metropolitan University Lisa Barnoff Entrance Award 2025

This is an entrance award designated for a first-generation student enrolling in an undergraduate program at the Faculty of Community Services (excluding the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing). The award was created in honour of Dr. Lisa Barnoff through funds raised by faculty and staff of the Faculty of Community Services. This award will continue to foster Dr. Barnoff’s spirit and commitment to inclusion.

As a first generation student herself, Dr. Barnoff is honored by this award and hopes it will encourage other first-generation students as they embark on their post-secondary journey - knowing that they are welcomed, are valued and belong.

Requirements

• Applicant must be admitted into the upcoming Fall term.
• Applicant must have applied and must be admitted to a program in the Faculty of Community Services (excluding the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing).
• Applicant must be a first generation student (A student who is the first in their family [not including a sibling] to attend a post-secondary institute such as a college, university, or apprenticeship program either in Canada or outside of Canada).
• Applicant must demonstrate financial need as determined by Toronto Metropolitan University
