Toronto Metropolitan University Ontario Remembrance Scholarship 2024

On January 8, 2020, a Ukrainian airliner crashed near Tehran, Iran. Victims of the crash included 57 Canadians. Among the victims, 34 people were employed at or studying in universities and colleges in Ontario. In remembrance of the victims and to commemorate the talent that was lost, Ontario will continue to provide publicly-assisted postsecondary institutions with funding for 57 dedicated scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year (i.e., August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024). The value of each scholarship is $10,000.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate-level program of study (diploma or baccalaureate/bachelor’s degree) in a ministry-approved and funding-eligible program.
  • Applicants must be enrolled and remain enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in an eligible program.
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need as determined by the University.
  • Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.67 or higher.
  • Applicant must currently be enrolled.
