For the student who wrote extensively on women’s issues. Wanda Stankiewicz graduated in 1972 with a history degree from the University of Toronto. She then attended Toronto Metropolitan’s School of Journalism for a time before working as a consumer radio reporter in Burlington, Ont.. Wanda began her television journalism career with CBC Toronto, working there for four years before going on to work a year at United Press International. In 1984 she joined CTV as a news writer for Canada AM and, at the time of her death, was an assignment editor and national news producer for CTV National News. This award was established in her memory by CTV News, her husband Marc de Bellefeuille and her family.
