The purpose of this admission scholarship is to encourage Black people (Quebecers, Africans, Afro-Caribbeans, African-Americans) who demonstrate perseverance in adversity, a commitment to the Black community and a financial need for further studies, to begin training in law in order to pursue a career there.

Benefits
1 scholarship of $2,000 (Amount applied in two equal installments to the payment of tuition fees for the fall 2024 and winter 2025 sessions, provided that the recipient is registered full-time in the bachelor's program. The amounts will be paid after the withdrawal date without reimbursement.)
Requirements
- Admission to the Bachelor of Laws program for the fall 2025 session;
- Full-time registration at the time of receiving the scholarship in fall 2025 (12 credits min.) or hold the status “Deemed full-time” within the meaning of Financial Aid for Studies or be recognized as a student parent by Université Laval ;
- Self-identification with the Black community.

Selection criteria:
- Demonstration of perseverance in adversity (60%)
- Demonstration of commitment to the community (volunteer activities, organizations targeted, duration, recurrence, potential to continue the commitment, etc.) (30%)
- Demonstration that financial support is required for further studies (10%)
Application Documents
The application file must include the following documents:
- The self-identification form;
- A cover letter of no more than two pages highlighting perseverance in adversity, obstacles overcome, commitment to the Black community and financial need. Indicate notable actions or achievements, as well as an average number of hours of involvement per week (if possible);
- A letter of recommendation from a person attesting to the commitment from an organization or group of stakeholders;
- A certificate or any other document proving involvement and commitment, if possible;
- A published article with a photo to support the file, if possible;
- A summary budget of expenses and income for a typical month;
- An up-to-date resume;
- A final college transcript (or equivalent).
Your application must be submitted no later than October 12, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
Any incomplete file or file received after the period indicated as the deadline will be rejected.
