University of Laval ESSOR Graduate Scholarship 2025

The ESSOR scholarship program of the Faculty of Science and Engineering aims to facilitate the supervision, by faculty members, of new graduate students by contributing significantly to their funding. In this way, the program encourages the next generation of scientists by facilitating access to graduate studies. Faculty members who supervise students in the program increase the scholarship by an equivalent or greater amount.

Benefits

  • 13 scholarships of $10,000 (in the 2nd cycle)
  • 16 scholarships of $30,000 (at the 3rd cycle)

Requirements

The student must:

  • Have Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or hold a valid study permit at the time of starting the program;
  • Have submitted a new application for admission to a regular science or engineering study program, 2nd (master's with dissertation) or 3rd cycle, for the winter 2025 , summer 2025 or  fall 2025 session ;
  • Be registered full-time (12 credits or more per session) or have “deemed full-time” status during the scholarship award period;
  • Be under the direction of a member of the FSG faculty;
  • During the duration of the ESSOR scholarships, they cannot be combined with a scholarship from a funding agency (CRSNG, FRQNT) or any other major scholarship intended for graduate students.

Interview Dates and Process

Excellence of the student’s application file and recruitment needs. In particular, the committee may prioritize applications supervised by faculty members who are early in their careers.

Please note that some scholarships have specific criteria which may be linked to the field of activity or the status of the student.
