University of Laval Louise Côté Scholarship 2024

This program aims to stimulate research projects by graduate students and to encourage professor-researchers in the Department of Medicine to welcome more students into their laboratory.

Multiple scholarships of $7,500 (The scholarship is non-renewable.)

Requirements

Student candidates:

  • Be admitted or have submitted an application for admission for the first time in winter 2024, summer 2024 or fall 2024 in a 2nd cycle program of the Faculty of Medicine;
  • Be supervised by a research director who is a member of the Department of Medicine;
  • Not to benefit from any nominative scholarship of more than $10,000. However, the student agrees to apply for scholarships from other organizations; 
  • Scholarships are not transferable to another program, faculty, university or candidate. 

Evaluation criteria

Academic record:

  • Excellence of the academic record considering the diploma(s) serving as the basis for admission to the master's degree (minimum average of 3.00/4.33);
  • Scholarships, prizes and awards.

Skills and experiences:

  • Other research projects, training courses, publications, conferences and presentations.

Research project

  • Clarity and conciseness of the project description, hypothesis and objectives;
  • Method, analysis;
  • Originality and feasibility;
  • Contribution to the advancement of knowledge.

      • Master's degree in epidemiology - with dissertation

      • Master's degree in microbiology-immunology - with dissertation
      • Master's degree in neuroscience - with dissertation
      • Master of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences - with dissertation
      • Master of Science in Rehabilitation – with dissertation

Application Documents

When submitting, you will need to include the following documents in your form:

  • Copy of university diplomas;
  • Copy of university transcripts (capsule accepted);
  • Letter of support from the researcher (1 to 2 pages maximum).

The absence of one of these documents will result in the rejection of the scholarship application
