The Asper Foundation Entrance Bursary provides financial support to first-year undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need. Offered through the University of Manitoba Entrance Bursary Application, this renewable award helps reduce the financial burden for students starting their academic journey.
$1,000 bursary
Renewable for up to three additional years (total of 4 years)
Renewal requires:
Maintaining full-time enrollment (minimum 60% course load)
Achieving a minimum GPA of 2.5 each year
Continuing to demonstrate financial need annually
Must be in your first year of study at the University of Manitoba
Enrolled in University 1 or any faculty, college, or school that admits from high school
Must be enrolled full-time (at least 60% course load)
Minimum 70% high school admission average
Demonstrated financial need via the Entrance Bursary application
Up to 5 bursaries may go to eligible students registered with Student Accessibility Services with a permanent physical disability
Selection Criteria Includes:
Financial need (assessed through the bursary application)
High school academic performance (minimum 70%)
Full-time enrollment in a qualifying first-year program
Priority consideration for students with permanent physical disabilities (up to 5 awards)
Completed University of Manitoba Entrance Bursary Application (Aurora Portal)
Supporting documentation for financial need may be required
The University of Manitoba Entrance Bursary Application for this bursary and the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Entrance Awards is now available through the Aurora Student Portal (Aurora Classic) and will close July 15th.
