A scholarship of $1,125 will be offered to a female student who meets the stipulated requirement
Requirements for University of Manitoba Harland Family Award Qualification
- Applicant is enrolled as a full-time student in any faculty, college, or school at the University of Manitoba;
- Has achieved a minimum of 85% average on those high school courses used for admission to the university if entering from high school, OR a minimum 3.0 degree grade point average as an undergraduate student OR as a graduate student, have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0 based on the previous 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study;
- has been involved in the sport of rugby in Manitoba within the last three years in one or more of the following ways:
- have played rugby, either with the University of Manitoba club team or on a team in the Manitoba Rugby Union;
- have played on the provincial or national rugby team;
- have a background of community service to the sport through volunteer refereeing, coaching, running clinics, or volunteering as an athletic therapist;
- have contributed to the sport as an administrator, organizer, or developer.
Documents Required for Application
Applicants for the award must submit
- A statement (maximum 250 words) describing the nature of their involvement with the sport of rugby,
- A lletter of reference from a person who can speak directly to the candidate’s participation.
- Candidates must submit an application to the Financial Aid and Awards office
