University of Ottawa Bursaries for Postsecondary Studies in French as a Second Language Scholarship 2027

New French as a Second Language bursary program administered by the Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) and Canadian Heritage. The government of Canada made a commitment to promoting a bilingual Canada, in particular by supporting English-speaking Canadians in learning French.

Requirements

• Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.

• Have English as the first Canadian official language spoken.

• Have completed and graduated from high school at an institution where the language of instruction was English or a non-official language (neither French nor English).

• Be admitted and enrolled full-time in a program at the University of Ottawa, with a minimum duration of two years.

• Be admitted to a French or French Immersion program.

• Take a minimum of 6 credits per term taught in French.

Note:

• This bursary can be combined with other scholarships offered at the University of Ottawa.

Special consideration will be given to students who:

• Face financial difficulties and are the first generation in their family to pursue studies at college or university level.

• Belong to an under-represented group or a disadvantaged minority.
