University of Regina Bell Media Award in Journalism


Aim and Benefits of University of Regina Bell Media Award in Journalism

$1,700 will be awarded to two(2) recipients of the Bell Media Award in Journalism


Requirements for University of Regina Bell Media Award in Journalism Qualification

Two awards will be presented to University of Regina graduate students who meet the following criteria:

  • Registered in the Master of Journalism program through the School of Journalism, Faculty of Arts;
  • Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 75%;
  • Registered and remains registered in a minimum of six credit hours in the semester the award is presented;
  • Is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada; and
  • Provide an essay describing how the award will impact the applicant’s journalist career, and how extra-curricular activities and volunteerism have impacted the applicant’s studies. The essay should be approximately 500 words.

Interested and qualified? Go to University of Regina Canada on www.uregina.ca to apply

In addition, students will need to upload the following:

  • An essay up to 500 words describing how the award will impact the applicant’s journalist career, and how extra-curricular activities and volunteerism have impacted the applicant’s studies; and
  • UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled 'Current Registration & List of Courses (Unofficial Transcript)' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.
  • IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
  • All of these items are needed for an application to be considered complete.
