This collaboration aims to strengthen academic exchange and promote the development of highly qualified professionals while fostering bilateral cooperation between Taiwan and Canada.
The Taiwan-U of T Scholarship is a co-funded program in which MOE and U of T share (1:1) the costs of tuition, fees, and stipends (normal funding commitment) for eligible Taiwanese students admitted to a PhD program at U of T. The program is expected to support up to five (5) doctoral students per year for the initial five-year term (2026-27 to 2030-31), with funding for a maximum of four (4) years per student.
The Taiwan-U of T Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and mandatory fees (including UHIP) as well as an annual stipend equal to that normally offered by the program. The scholarship is valued at no less than $40,000 per year CAD and is available for up to four years.
