Benefits
One (1) award will be given to an eligible student as follows:
- Student in her final year of High School and who has gained admission to CEGEP.
- Student in or newly admitted to CEGEP or gained admission to University.
- Student in or newly admitted to Vocational or Adult Education.
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate involvement with WIBCA and with the wider community.
The financial package will be communicated to the selected recipient of the award
Requirements
To be eligible for this award, the student must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a bona fide resident of the Greater Montreal Area.
Application Documents
- A letter of intent of at least 250-500 words outlining:
- Why you are deserving of the Empowered Women Scholarship.
- What you will do with the funds and how it will impact your future.
- What activity/activities you have done in your life that has proven your commitment and involvement to your community.
- What it means to be an Empowered Woman?
- List all volunteer activities in which you have participated over the past three years.
- Your Curriculum Vitae.
- Transcripts of the current and last completed academic year (80% average).
- Proof of admission to higher institution.
- Agree to send progress letter and pictures.
- Two (2) letters of reference (excluding family and friends), and preferably, one from your teacher.
All documents must be typed.
