The Society’s International Scholarship Program assists students who plan to complete some of their post-secondary courses or related work experience outside of Canada.

Benefits

One World International Scholarships of between $1,000 – $5,000

Premier’s International Scholarships of between $8,000 – $12,000

Requirements

One World International Scholarships ($1000 – $5,000)

One World Scholarships are adjudicated and awarded by your institution, and are intended for students who:

1. are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, Convention refugees, or Protected Persons living in Canada;
2. are currently enrolled at a public post-secondary institution in British Columbia as a full-time student (as defined by the institution);
3. have been accepted into an international experience program:
   i. for a period of one week or longer (not including travel time);
   ii. beginning before May 1, 2027;
   iii. that is not within a country which the applicant emigrated from within the past 5 years; and
   iv. that is not within the United States (First Nations, Metis, and Inuk applicants excepted*);
4. have demonstrated a link between the international experience program and their educational and/or career goals; and
5. have not previously received a One World International Scholarship or a Premier’s International Scholarship.

*First Nations, Metis, Inuk students are eligible to participate in study programs offered by credit-granting institutions in the United States of America.

Premier’s International Scholarship ($8,000- $12,000)

Premier’s International Scholarships are adjudicated and awarded by the Society, and is intended for students who:

1. are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, Convention refugees, or Protected Persons living in Canada;
2. are currently enrolled at a public post-secondary institution in British Columbia as a full-time student (as defined by the institution);
3. have achieved a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA), or B, based on their most recent two semesters of study;
4. have been accepted into a future, or are actively enrolled in a current, international study or work program:
   1. for a period of three months or longer (not including travel time);
   2. beginning before April 30, 2027;
   3. where credit(s) earned will be recognised by their home institution;
   4. that is not within a country which the applicant emigrated from within the past 5 years; and
   5. that is not within the United States (First Nations, Metis, and Inuk applicants excepted*);
5. have demonstrated a link between the international study or work program and their educational and/or career goals; and
6. have not previously received a Premier’s International Scholarship.

NOTE: For applicants who were awarded a One World International Scholarship within the same award year, the Premier’s Scholarship value will represent the combined amount of the One World International Scholarship and the Premier’s Scholarship. For example, if a student is awarded a Premier’s Scholarship valued at $8,000 and had also received a One World International Scholarship of $2,000 within the award year, the amount for the Premier’s Scholarship will be $6,000.
