Saint Dunstan’s University Bursary Program 2026

The Saint Dunstan’s Bursary program provides financial support each year for Roman Catholic post-secondary students from the Diocese of Charlottetown who meet certain criteria. Bursaries are in the amount of $1,500 for a maximum of 200 bursaries per year.

Requirements

Applicants for this bursary must meet the following criteria:

1. You must be an Island resident (have a permanent Island address), and must be graduating from a PEI high school with an average of at least 65% in grades 11 and 12, or if in university, must have achieved an average of at least 65% in your previous year of study.
2. An OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT must be sent to our office.
3. Those in university must qualify as full-time students (i.e. normally defined as a minimum of three courses per semester), and college students must attend on a full time basis.

For Bursary Renewal, applicants must

1. Achieve an average of at least 65 % in the previous year of study, and have an official transcript of previous year’s marks referred by the registrar of the university/college to the SDU Board Office, and submit an application.
2. Those in university must be registered as full-time students in each semester of the upcoming academic year, and those attending college must attend on a full time basis.
3. Completed applications for renewal plus transcripts must be submitted to the SDU Board of Directors no later than August 31 of the present year.
   Applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.

Students attending university or community college in Atlantic Canada will have their bursaries deposited to their student account at that institution. In all other situations, cheques will be issued in the name of the student and the name of the institution they are attending. Bursaries will be distributed in October of each year.
